MCI of Iran launches WiFi calling

(MENAFN) According to a daily Financial Tribune, Mobile Communication Company (MCI) of Iran has launched WiFi calling services.

The service which is called "TelFi" was first revealed two months ago and tested last month, as it operates through the TelFi Android app, downloaded from the MCI website.

This new technology allows smartphone users to make calls through wireless Internet connection instead of the usual mobile network, as it can be used where cellular signals are out of reach.

Moreover, abroad travelers can also benefit from WiFi calling, as they can make low-cost calls from wherever they have access to a WiFi connection rather than the expensive roaming service.
