(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Rabat – Young Moroccan Yassin Lachhab won on Friday the title of the 10th edition of Munshid Al Sharjah competition, which was held in the United Arab Emirates.
The competition, which drew to a close on December 22, saw the participation of dozen contestants from many Muslim countries, including Jordan, Morocco, Egypt and Tunisia.
Only six nasheed (religious chant) singers were able to qualify to the final. The competition's closure was in favor of Morocco. Lachhab mesmerized the competition's jury committee with his charming voice and clinched the title of the 10th edition of the competition.
The Moroccan star was qualified for the final on December 14. The competition was organized by Sharjah Media Foundation. The Jury committee included, Tunisian iconic singer, Lotfi Bouchnak and Emirati Munshids Oussama Safi and Ahmed Bou Khater.
Lachhab was rewarded with a AED 150,000 prize and a luxury car, while Saleh El Khalayla, second winner from Jordan received a prize of AED 100,000. Youssef Mahmoud, Egyptian third winner received AED 75,000, reported Emirati news outlet .
'Munshid Al SHarjah has opened the dream road at its widest for me,' said Lachhab. He added that this win was an honor for him and his country. 'I would like to thank and my family and Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Qasimi, the sovereign ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah for his efforts to preserve art and creativity.'

One-hundred and fifty five people from across the world voted for the participants in its 10th season .
