(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KHARTOUM, Dec 24 (KUNA) -- Turkey and Sudan on Sunday agreed to raise volume of their trade exchange to USD 10 billion as it now is below ambitions.
This was announced by Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir at the conclusion of his talks with visiting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan today.
Al-Bashir also revealed that some 12 cooperative agreements covering all fields were signed between the two sides following the talks.
He, meanwhile, lauded Erdogan's honorable positions in support of Jerusalem City and the Muslim nation.
He also commended the OIC summit hosted by Istanbul, saying that it unified Arab and Muslim positions, and played a prominent role in isolating internationally the US decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital and move the US Embassy to the holy city.
Meanwhile, Erdogan affirmed that Turkey is seeking to raise volume of trade exchange with Sudan to USD 10 billion, stating that it now stands at USD 500 million.
He said there would be big cooperation with Sudan in the upcoming period.
The Turkish leader arrived in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, on a three-day official visit, first of its kind for a Turkish President to Sudan in decades.
During his visit, he would hold talks with Al-Bashir on a wide array of issues including bilateral cooperation and regional and international developments of common concern.
Erdogan is being accompanied by a high profile ministerial delegation comprising 200 businessmen. (end) mmm.hm
