ASTAD participated in the Caspian and Central Asia Rail conference to showcase its diverse project portfolio and wide range of services, while demonstrating its expertise within the transportation sector.

The conference took place on December 6 and 7 in Azerbaijan, where ASTAD invited Qatar's Ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Yousef bin Hassan Al Saai to discuss potential cooperation and collaboration.

ASTAD provides fully integrated project and asset management services, covering the design and construction of complex building and infrastructure projects.

ASTAD Chief Executive Officer, Ali Al Khalifa stated: 'We are heavily involved in all rail projects in Qatar including the Lusail Light Rail, Doha Metro Green Line and the QF Tram, and we are committed to supporting the development of Qatar's transportation infrastructure. This rail event provides a platform for us to meet rail operators from all over the region to discuss rail trends in Azerbaijan as a major Eurasian rail hub.

ASTAD plays a strategic role within Qatar's transportation sector, supporting the nation's journey towards sustaining its own development and providing a high standard of living for all.

It all started with their successful management of the Qatar Foundation Tram in Education City, where ASTAD managed the interface of all surrounding facilities of the first battery-powered tram system and the first rail project of its kind in Qatar.

More recently, ASTAD began works on the Lusail Light Rail Transit (LLRT), providing project management consultancy services to ensure the successful delivery of the eco-friendly transportation system that will serve the visitors, employees and residents of Lusail City in Qatar.

ASTAD secured work on the Doha Metro Green Line which runs East from Al Riffa to Al Mansoura in the West. ASTAD will ensure the successful delivery of the integral component of the larger Qatar Rail network.

It is part of the new Doha Metro system currently under construction and scheduled for completion ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The Caspian and Central Asia Rail Conference is the only rail event to be run in partnership with Caucausus, European and Central Asian governments, hosting more regional and international government representatives than any other regional rail show.
