Argentine missing sub: new detected contact to be investigated
(MENAFN) Argentina navy declared Saturday that sonar search of its missing submarine which gone off the radar with its 44 crew members a month ago had identified a recent contact in the South Atlantic.
A remotely operated Russian Panther Plus submarine is set to look into the contact while a US oceanographic research vessel proceeds in its investigation of the search area.
Even though the navy didn't disclose further information regarding the contact, it confirmed that a total of thirteen countries are lending a hand in the search for the missing ARA San Juan.
