(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIRUT, Dec 23 (KUNA) -- The Lebanese Army Command said Saturday a number of Syrians were arrested in the mountainous Chebaa area, near the eastern borders with Syria, under terror charges.
The detainees are accused of involvement in acts of terrorism and association with Jabhat Fateh Al-Sham formerly known as Al-Nusra Front, the command said in a statement without giving numbers.
The arrests were made during a security operation, which led also to the seizure of a quantity of weapons and ammunition, according to the statement. (end) ayb.gb
