Sheikh Hamdan captures striking views of Dubai in sea of fog

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The much awaited winter season is back in UAE and with it comes breathtaking foggy and misty mornings.

Not only photography enthusiasts among residents, but even royals take to rooftops to take mesmerising shots of the country engulfed in fog - especially Dubai.

As a sea of fog and mist passed through Dubai this morning, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, went atop Burj Khalifa to capture Saturday's dense fog that had descended upon the Sheikh Zayed Road.

The prince posted the following video as 'Instagram stories':

He shared the breathtaking views of Dubai engulfed in blanket of fog with just the tops of the lofty towers on the iconic SZR visible.

This is not the first time that the Crown Prince has given us a glimpse of his fabulous photography skills along with the beautiful views of the city.

The prince has been regularly photographing winter sights from around the country and sharing them on social media, including last year when his shots went viral online

He had also shared videos of the rain that had hit UAE a few days back, while he was out driving during the downpour.

Fog and mist engulfed most parts of the UAE on Saturday, causing several flight delays and cancellations. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued an advisory for residents as foggy days are set to continue for the next few days.

"There will be a fog formation with poor visibility over roads especially coastal, internal and northern areas during Saturday night and Sunday morning. So follow the traffic rules and drive safely," the advisory reads

The Abu Dhabi and Dubai Police had earlier urged drivers to maintain a safe distance between vehicles, follow traffic rules and adjust speed as per weather conditions. There was low to dense cover of fog over Abu Dhabi and Dubai airports and the weather conditions affected airline services.
