Abu Dhabi Police airlift young Arab man stuck in desert
After rescuing him, the injured man was referred to the hospital for treatment.
The air wing sent message from the operations room to the crew of the helicopter deployed in the area, telling them that a man was stuck in the desert as his bike had flipped over.The helicopter immediately reached the scene. The medical team provided first-aid to the injured person. Later, he was taken to Tawam Hospital.
Brigadier General Ibrahim Hassan Al Baloushi, director of the air wing, said: "This operation comes within the framework of Abu Dhabi Police's keenness to follow up on humanitarian tasks and to respond quickly to calls and announcements in various locations, especially in rugged areas and sand dunes that cannot be reached by ambulances."He added that the management of the air wing, its divisions and all staff - including crews - are working round-the-clock in various places to maintain security and safety, and to provide assistance when receiving any distress call. He called on road users to ensure they have security and safety tools when going to deserts, especially GPS, and to report in case of any emergency.
