More than 60 activities including 30 amusement rides are in store for Souq Waqif visitors at the Souq Waqif Spring Festival which kicks off on Monday. Preparations are in full swing with just a few days to go before the start of the festival which has been one of the most awaited annual events in Souq Waqif's calendar.

Running until April 25, the festival presented in partnership with QSports, a Qatari private company, is set to be the longest festival in Souq Waqif. It will feature a wide range of family-friendly outdoor games and rides as well as entertainment including parades and musical shows.

'Following the success of the Qatar Summer Festival's Entertainment City, we are proud to partner with Souq Waqif, a cultural institution in Qatar, to bring new and popular attractions such as Qatar's largest outdoor trampoline park, Ocean Ball Kids Play area and outstanding food court.

With live entertainment and 30 unique amusement park rides, families can look forward to more than 60 activities to enjoy at the Souq Waqif from December 25 to April 25, said Ghanim Al Muraikhi Al Mohannadi, Deputy Chairman of QSports.
Coinciding with the upcoming second edition of Shop Qatar 2018 which runs from January 7 to February 7, the four-month long spring festival will be one of the main outdoor attractions.

In connection with Shop Qatar, QSports is also organising the Mall of Qatar Fun Fair which is scheduled from January 15 to April 15 and will be another entertainment extravaganza with unique features such as paintballing, giant slides and the world's first 3-axis Virtual Reality Game.

'The festivals have become landmark events for residents and tourists alike who wait fervently for their start. With each event we are experiencing more visitors and bigger entertainment offerings. The public can expect no less than a colossal entertainment extravaganza, with shows, roller coaster rides, food stalls and live performances. It is still free to enter the Souq grounds and take in the joyous atmosphere and with over 60 spectacular rides and attractions. We are looking forward to welcoming visitors when they join us in celebrating the start of Qatar's outdoor season, said Al Mohannadi.

Under the slogan ‘A Brand New Tradition,' Shop Qatar 2018 will see bigger participation from 13 malls whose retail outlets will be giving special offers and up to 50 percent discounts on consumer goods including clothes, electronics, cosmetics and accessories for men, women and children.
