Qatar- Four month closure on Furousiya Street

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Ashghal will close a 1km section of Al Furousiya Street leading from Muaither Roundabout to Al Furousiya Roundabout (Equestrian R/A) from today for a period of four months.
Traffic on the closed section will be diverted to a newly-constructed temporary parallel road, which includes three lanes, as shown on the map. Lanes in the other direction on Al Furousiya Street will remain open to traffic.
The diversion aims to enable construction works as part of Al Furousiya Street Development Project, which includes increasing the number of lanes on Al Furousiya Street to four in each direction with a service road on either side in order to enhance traffic flow and increase the street capacity to accommodate current and future traffic requirements.
The project also includes converting Al Furousiya and Muaither Roundabouts into signal-controlled intersections to ease traffic congestion in the area, in addition to providing street lighting and pedestrian and cyclist lanes, among other works.
The authorities will install road signs advising motorists of the closure. Ashghal has requested all road users to abide by the speed limit, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
