4,512 registered Kuwaitis still not working: statistics


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, Dec 21: Statistics issued by Manpower and Government Restructuring Program (MGRP) has revealed about 4,512 Kuwaiti holders of degree and diploma certificates who have applied for jobs since more than six months and are still not working, receiving pension or enrolled in any of the educational institutions in the country, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The statistics disclosed that there are 73 holders of masters' degree, one with PhD certification and 1,336 unemployed diploma certificate holders. The number of bachelor degree holders constitutes the majority of the unemployed in the country.

Regarding the role of the private sector in creating job opportunities for citizens, the statistics highlighted that the banking sector is first on the list as the most attractive sector for a large number of citizens with Commercial Bank of Kuwait topping the banking list with 2,477 recruits, followed by the National Bank of Kuwait with 2,119, Gulf Bank with 1,613, Burgan Bank with 1,605, Kuwait Finance House with 1,524, Kuwait International Bank with 1,478, Al-Ahli Bank of Kuwait with 941, Boubyan Bank with 740, and Al-Ahli United Bank with 516.
