Under this year's Qatar National Day theme Promise of Prosperity and Glory, the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) hosted various activities, highlighting Qatari heritage and creating platforms to raise awareness about healthy practices.
Celebrations included a health awareness booth hosted at the Mall of Qatar, where the members of the public where invited to engage with PHCC clinical staff, health tips were offered and engaging educational material was shared.
Health centres across the country hosted celebrations with the main event held at the corporation's headquarters.
The event was graced by Minister of Public Health H E Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, and Dr Mariam Abdul Malik, Managing Director, PHCC.
Dr Abdul Malik, said, 'In this momentous day and on behalf of PHCC I would like to share a heartfelt congratulations to first and foremost the wise leadership of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Father Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani as well as the people of Qatar. We are privileged to play host to a day that celebrates the beauty of Qatar's culture, warm hospitality and heritage, this day is a true testament to the visionary leadership in our beloved country, we are filled with pride and honour to be part of a celebration of prosperity. PHCC will continue in its pledge to provide this nation with excellence in care and service.
Musallam Mubarak Al Nabit, Assistant of Managing Director of the PHCC for financial and Administrative Affairs said, 'On this prominent day we celebrate our cherished country Qatar, the great leadership that continuously inspires prosperity and a positive national spirit. We are proud to be part of a country that promotes good will and continuously makes strides towards self-sufficiency.
PHCC also held awareness activities and dietitians in partnership with Qatar Civil Aviation Authority were engaged in educating the public about adopting a healthy lifestyle.
