Ooredoo announced yesterday that the Ooredoo Village, a dedicated event hosted at Katara to celebrate Qatar National Day, received a huge number of visitors, with over 30,000 people from across the country visiting the event each day and taking part in activities.

The exhibition in the Cultural Village at Katara Corniche, was part of Katara National Day events sponsored by Ooredoo.

The Ooredoo Village was open from December 12 19, and included activities for all ages, such as demonstrations, traditional music (Al Ardah), traditional food, technology and crafts. As an educational point for children and expatriates, the company exhibited traditional swords and other items, including a ‘dala' (traditional coffee pot) to showcase Qatar's strong historic background. To entertain families, Ooredoo created an immersive desert experience with free camel rides and falcon handling, and a Qatari majlis serving Arabic coffee and tea.

On December 18, the Ooredoo Village also had a live feed of the Qatar National Day parade on the Corniche on a big screen.

For families visiting Katara, and not the Ooredoo Village, Ooredoo also paid the food bill for customers in selected restaurants in Katara from December 16 to 18 to promote togetherness. Restaurants included the popular Chapatti and Karak, Sugar and Spice, Chac'Late, and Sukar Pasha.

Ooredoo also held Qatar National Day celebrations for its employees at its headquarters in West Bay. The internal event, which took place on December 14, invited all Ooredoo staff and their children to gather and celebrate Qatar, and what being a Qatari company means for Ooredoo.
