UAE- Register your car trailers in Sharjah or face Dh1,000 fine

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Sharjah Police have urged owners of unlicensed or unregistered trailers to inspect and register their trailers before the end of December, 2017. According to article number 96 of the traffic and license department, failure to register by the end of this month - December 31 - will result in a Dh1,000 fine.

The traffic and licence department of Sharjah Police is urging private owners and companies that own trailers to register their trailers as part of a strategic plan to ensure the safety of road users and prevent the many accidents caused by trailers that failed to abide by specified standards.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Hamed Al Jalaf, deputy director of the machines and motorists licence at Sharjah Police, said that the step comes as part of the ambitious plan of the Ministry of Interior to ensure that used trailers are safe and that registering them will provide details about their owners. Each registered trailer will have a plate number that will need to be placed at the rear of the trailer and in a well noticed area.

"The trailers must be registered annually and people wishing to register them before the deadline should approach Tasjeel centers to register them. They must ensure they are safe as the police will launch a crackdown in January 2018 to ensure that all trailers are registered."

He added that on the occasion of 50 years of Sharjah Police, registration fee will be waived off for the first 50 applicants. This step comes as part of the traffic and license department initiative that aimed at delighting clients and ensuring their safety."
