EU adopts new program to support political transition in Syria
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BRUSSELS, Dec 20 (KUNA) -- The European Union (EU) adopted on Wednesday a new 9 million euro (USD 10.6 million) program to support peace and political transition in Syria.
"The EU has always supported the UN-led process as the relevant framework for reaching a political solution to the Syrian conflict," the EU High Representative Federica Mogherini said in a press statement.
"Only an inclusive political process and transition can make all Syrians -who are inside Syria or elsewhere in the region and in Europe- feel at home in their own country and to contribute to its rebirth, shaping Syria's future unity and reconciliation", added the EU foreign policy chief.
