Forty-five senior writers contributed to this one-of-a-kind compilation of poetry, essays and short stories selected from among hundreds of entries in the Ageless Authors Writing Contest for older writers nationwide.

Poet and novelist Ginnie Bivona is founder of the Ageless Authors Anthology and writing contest encouraging senior writers nationwide to keep the creativity coming in their later years. The Anthology is available for purchase now at AgelessAuthors.com and Amazon.com. Go to the Ageless Authors website to submit poems, essays and short stories in the next writing contest. The best work from professional writers and those who've never published will appear in the fall edition of the Anthology.
Oregon writer and composer Michael Coolen gives us the memorable opening sentence, "Dad was killed by whales." The late John Garzone of Massachusetts tells of a lady pool shark who stole a young man's heart in "Smooth Sheila." And Texas writer Shirley K. Wright weaves a suspenseful tale of home invasion in "No Thanks For the Memory."

The 288-page book lists for $18.95, with free shipping for orders over $50. There are quantity discounts for purchases on AgelessAuthors.com.

A second annual writing contest is now underway for senior professionals and those who have never been published. The best writing from that contest will populate the second edition of Ageless Authors Anthology.

Writers can submit stories based on any of three topics –

  • Military Memories
  • Dang I Wish I Hadn't Done That
  • Parents, For Better or Worse
  • A $20 entry fee is required, the deadline for submissions is February 28, 2018 and cash prizes will be awarded. Learn more about the topics and contest rules at .

Ageless Authors is the brainchild of Dallas writers Ginnie Bivona and Larry Upshaw. Bivona is an 86-year-old novelist and poet who started writing in her fifties. Upshaw is a 70-year-old ghostwriter, marketing executive, and former journalist. They are working to build a senior writing community nationwide.

"Ageless Authors captures the best offered by seasoned writers," says Vermont essayist Jean Yeager, who has two pieces in the Anthology. "I'm grateful to be judged against my peers. We may be the fine aged wines of the writing world."

Ageless Authors Anthology makes a great present for seniors eager to show they can keep the creative fires burning, and for their family and friends. Not only can grandma cook, but she has a knack for literature. Grandpa does more than pound a golf ball. He can lay down some mean iambic pentameter.
