Palestinian UN envoy says US biased on Jerusalem move

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) NEW YORK, Dec 19 (KUNA) -- Palestine's permanent observer to the United Nations said on Monday the US was fully biased on its support for Israel's Occupation of Jerusalem.

Jerusalem is recognized internationally as Palestine's rightful capital and is an inseparable part of its territories annexed by Israel in 1967, Riyad Mansour said in a speech at the Security Council.

After the US was the only country to veto an Egyptian recommendation expressing rejection of the declaration of Jerusalem as Israel's capital, he said the UNSC voting proved there was international consensus over the special regard for Jerusalem.

Palestinians will no longer accept a solitary US role on the Middle East peace process, but will instead seek an internationally-represented group effort, he reiterated.

In spite of the veto, the diplomat was adamant the international community, which recognizes Palestinian rights over the city, would find other means to adopt the proposal. (end) asf.sd
