City to hold contract talks with Pep Guardiola
18 Dec 2017

Manchester City are looking to tie down Pep Guardiola at the Ethihad stadium, after seeing Sir Alex Ferguson-esque 'never say die' attitude and other qualities in the Spaniard.

They are hoping that Pep will establish a new era at Manchester City similar to Sir Alex Ferguson's long term dynasty at Manchester United.

Guardiola's current contract is worth £20 million annually.

Long term plan

Pep Guardiola signed a 3 year contract with the Manchester City when he took charge. The contract will expire in 2019.

City do not expect Pep's reign to last 26 years like Ferguson's but they are looking to increase his wages and tie him down at least for a decade.

However, Pep earlier indicated that his maximum spell at City would be 3 years.

Manchester City are unbeatable
Red-hot

City are in remarkable form, having secured their 16th successive win in the Premier League with a 4-1 victory against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

The sky blues from Manchester have been rampant in front of goal, having scored 56 goals in 18 games.

They are also unbeaten in the league so far and the only hiccup was the 1-1 draw against Everton in August.

Is Pep Guardiola the world's best coach?
Serial winner

Guardiola has been the mastermind behind Manchester City's rampant form. He brings out the best in his players.

He also has a track record of unbeaten winning streaks and holds the record across three leagues EPL, Bundesliga and La Liga.

Pep's best run has been 19 unbeaten games with Bayern Munich and 16 each with Barcelona and City.

Can somebody stop City from winning the EPL?
Miles ahead

Manchester City may have already run away with the Premier League title after securing a 11 point lead over neighbours and second place Manchester United.

In Pep's debut season they finished 3rd, 15 points behind champions Chelsea, but in this season it looks like nobody can stop them from winning their third league title.
