Oman- Middle East College boosts market with 1,313 graduates


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Middle East College (MEC) recently celebrated the Annual Graduation Ceremony of its 2017 batch at the Student Hub, Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM).

A total of 1,313 graduates were awarded Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor and Master's certificates in 20 different undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered by MEC in the fields of Engineering, Science and Technology, Business and Archives and Records Management.

The closing ceremony was held under the auspices of H E Nasser bin Sulaiman al Sibani, deputy chairman of the Public Authority for Radio and Television, Oman. Dr Abdullah Saif Ahmed al Sabahy, chairman, Middle East College, Dr Kiran G R, dean, Middle East College, deanery members, dignitaries from various ministries, academics, parents and other distinguished guests attended the event while the other four sessions were held under the patronage of professor John Latham, vice chancellor of Coventry University, Dr Anthea Gregory, deputy vice chancellor of University of Wolverhampton, and were attended by MEC deanery members Dr Debbie Gilliland, head of Transnational Education, University of Wolverhampton, MEC staff and students and other dignitaries.

Dr Kiran said, 'Through the years spent here at Middle East College, you have grown to become successful graduates today. You have demonstrated immense commitment towards values and responsibilities and an ability to learn from both successes and failures. Today, as you graduate from MEC and begin a new chapter of your life, I wish that you continue to display all of these qualities in delivering your responsibilities towards yourself, your family and the community. I take this opportunity to commend you on all your accomplishments and wish you the very best for your future.'

Ahlam Rashid al Mamari, best outgoing student in Masters of Business Administration in Information Technology (MBA-IT), said, 'I cannot express how happy I am to reach this moment where I celebrate the success of this journey by winning the Best Outgoing Student award. The graduation means a lot to every student who worked hard throughout their studies and tried their best to gain knowledge in their area of study. I would like to congratulate all my colleagues on their achievement in life and I hope all the best for them in future!'

Mohammed Mansoor al Habsi, best outgoing student in Archives and Records Management (ARM) programme, said, 'It was not an easy trip to reach this stage but it is for sure an exceptional experience for each one of us. Today, we will be starting another new journey where we will be holding responsibility of building this nation and taking it to the next level up. I would like to thank everyone who stood by my side and supported me in my studies; thanks to my dear family and thanks to every member at MEC.'

MEC offers 20 undergraduate programmes and four postgraduate programmes in affiliation with Coventry University, UK, University of Wolverhampton, UK and NHTV Bread University of Applied Sciences, The Netherlands.
The college has a very active collaboration with various educational institutions from across the globe. The admission process for the Spring 2018 semester has already commenced for undergraduate programmes.
