Afghanistan- 'Dismantle terrorist networks in Pakistan'

(MENAFN- Afghanistan Times) AT-KABUL: The Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah has urged the Pakistan's parliamentary delegation to shun terror havens and dismantle networks of terrorist groups functioning in Pakistan, from where they (militant groups) have been launching and operating terrorist and destructive activities in Afghanistan. Referring to Pakistan's duplicity in war on terror and its Afghan course, Abdullah said battling terrorism and eradication of safe terror sanctuaries in Pakistan is the required condition to create productive environment for trust-building and improving relations.

Abdullah made the remarks during a meeting held with a delegation of Pakistani parliamentarians, civil society activists and media-men here in Kabul on Sunday, a statement from his office said.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed normalizing relations, expansion of trade; developing mutual confidence and resolution to issues between the two countries, the statement added.

The CEO said bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries should be strengthened and bilateral issues were needed to be resolved through dialogue and in line with the principles of good neighborliness.

Shedding light on Afghanistan's official policy, Abdullah said Kabul had always wished cordial relations- based on mutual respect with all neighboring countries, including Islamabad, he remarked.

The CEO added spirit of cooperation between the peoples of both countries has been existed, suggesting the goodwill should be utilized for bolstering positive bilateral relations between the two countries.

The Afghan government and the US-led international community have been emphasized on Pakistan to take meaningful actions against terrorist outfits in the country, and change the Afghan course to pave way for good neighborhood and bilateral friendship.

President Ashraf Ghani during his official visit to the United States on the occasion of United Nations General Assembly this year, said Afghanistan had repeatedly offered a hand of bilateral friendship—based on mutual respect to Pakistan, but Islamabad spit on it and remains stuck to its pro-terror policies in order to destabilize Afghanistan and undermining the US-led war on terror.
