Dual standards of law won't be accepted: Nawaz

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR, 17 December: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has said the Supreme Court's decision on Imran Khan and Jehangir Tareen case has showed that there are dual standards of law in the country.

Talking to media persons in London on Saturday, Nawaz Sharif said a prime minister has been disqualified for an Iqama, while another person has been declared innocent despite accepting his involvement. He said these dual standards of law will never be tolerated and a protest movement will be launched against it. The former prime minister said his party will make efforts for the rule of law and supremacy of the Constitution.

The Supreme Court in its decision on Friday rejected the PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi's application for disqualification of Imran Khan, while it disqualified Jehangir Tareen. The apex court had disqualified Nawaz Sharif in July over non-declaration of assets.
