Dozens of Trump move protesters injured in clashes with Israeli forces
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RAMALLAH, Dec 14 (KUNA) -- Some 51 Palestinians were injured amid clashes with Israeli forces in Jerusalem and eastern Gaza, medical sources said on Thursday.
The Palestinian Red Crescent said it treated 26 Palestinians, who were struck close to Bab El Amood (Damascus Gate) in Jerusalem, one of whom was hospitalized.
According to eyewitness accounts, the Palestinians had staged a rally in objection of the US administration's plans to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel before being involved in fistfights with Israeli forces.
Meanwhile, Gaza's health ministry said another five Palestinians were hospitalised after they were shot by Israeli forces close to the eastern borders of Jerusalem.
Another 20 Palestinian protesters in Gaza suffered asphyxiation as a result of tear gas fired by Israeli forces, ministry spokesman Ashraf Al-Qudra said. The protesters were treated on the scene, added the official.
Sporadic clashes have been ongoing across Palestinian territories between Palestinians protesting US President Donald Trump's announcement last week and Israeli forces.
