Doha: Qatar Airways has won the awards for best airline for international first class, best first-class seat design and best airline in the Middle East for the second consecutive year by the Global Traveler Tested Reader Survey Awards, one of the most respected awards in the business travel industry.
"It is a great pleasure to be recognised by travelers for the second consecutive year for our luxury, state-of-the-art product and outstanding service," Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker said.
"We take pride in providing passengers with the utmost travel experience, and constantly exceed their expectations each time they choose to travel with us. It is always our goal to continuously raise the bar on service and offerings onboard," he added.
The latest Global Traveler awards were presented ahead of the launch of Qatar Airways' Qsuite Business Class seat on flights from Hamad International Airport to John F Kennedy International Airport, commencing December 16.
Qsuite features the industry's first-ever double bed available in business class, with privacy panels that stow away, allowing passengers in adjoining seats to create their own private room. Adjustable panels and movable TV monitors on the center four seats allow colleagues, friends or families travelling together to transform their space into a private suite, permitting them to work, dine and socialize together. These new features provide the ultimate customizable travel experience that enables passengers to create an environment that suits their own unique needs.
The US debut of the groundbreaking new seat, Qsuite, follows similar launches in Paris and London earlier this year.
The Global Traveler Awards are fully accredited to readers' votes, and the magazine has a close relationship with travelers specially on the business class, with its reports highlighting the industry's leading trends.
