Sheikha Moza, Prime Minister attend QF event


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar Foundation (QF) chairperson Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani and several ministers attended QF's ‘Thriving Together' event.

HH Sheikha Moza was joined by QF vice- chairperson and CEO HE Sheikha Hind bint Hamad al-Thani at the event, designed to showcase QF as an exemplary organisation delivering impact on a local, regional and international level.

The event at the Qatar National Convention Centre, also highlighted QF's achievements during its 22-year history and outlined the organisation's plans for the future. The other dignitaries included HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah, HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed Saleh al-Sada, HE the Minister of Endowments - Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr Ghaith bin Mubarak al-Kuwari, HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Cabinet Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Hassan Lahdan Saqr al-Mohannadi, HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi, HE the Minister of Adminstrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs Dr Issa Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi, and HE the Minister of Public Health Dr Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari.

Dr Ahmad M Hasnah, president, Hamad Bin Khalifa University said, "Today's Thriving Together event is of substantial value to us at QF as key players in education, research and community development, as well as our stakeholders in government. Our discussions and conclusions will enable us to better strategise and cement our partnerships with valued national entities, in line with Qatar's priorities, now and for the years to come."

Dr Hamad al-Ibrahim, executive vice-president, QF R & D, said: 'Qatar Foundation is an organisation dedicated to realising the ambitions of the nation, yet our values are universal. Our mission is one that transcends borders and relies on global dialogue and international partnership. And now, more than ever, it is important that Qatari institutions work together for the overall advancement of this nation.

A key component of the day included showcasing QF's achievements and growth over the last two decades, demonstrating how QF is aligned with the nation's vision, and communicating a clear direction for the future of the organisation. Additionally, ‘Thriving Together' served as a platform to highlight QF's far-reaching impact on different communities through its four key mission areas of Pre-University Education, Higher Education, Science and Research, and Community Development.

Dr Hayat Abdulla Maarafi, executive director, QatarDebate, a member of QF, said: 'This is a hugely important event for QF. It provided a golden opportunity for us as an organisation to meet with all the government stakeholders whom we have collaborated with to great success over the last two decades. It's also an opportunity to showcase what we have achieved at QF over the last 22 years and to outline how we can evolve in the future and how we can collaborate more with ministries and government organisations.
