Israeli forces injure 35 Palestinian protesters in West Bank, Gaza


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RAMALLAH, Dec 13 (KUNA) -- Israeli Occupation forces on Wednesday used live ammunition and tear gas bombs to disperse Palestinians protesting the US move to recognize Jerusalem as capital of Israel in West Bank and Gaza Strip, leaving at least 35 people wounded.

In a press statement, the Palestinian health Ministry pointed out that a total of 22 people were wounded in West Bank cities, mostly by live fire and rubber-coated bullets.

Several others were suffered from suffocation after inhaling tear gas, it added.

Medical sources in Gaza Strip also announced that 12 protesters were injured when Israeli opened fire and heralded tear gas bombs on protesters near the northern and eastern borders of the strip today.

Palestinians in Gaza and West Bank have been demonstrating for the eighth consecutive day over US President Donald Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital and to move the US embassy to Jerusalem. (end) nq.wab.ibi
