Fewa denied new 'Dh100 fine' rumour

(MENAFN)The Federal Electricity and Water Authority (Fewa) has rejected rumours saying late payment fees to be changed.

Mohammed Saleh, director general of Fewa said that "the procedure is still the same as before,"

"The only thing that changed is the name of the Dh100 service fee," he affirmed.

A while ago, Fewa used to take Dh100 to reconnect the service to consumers who did not pay their electricity and water bills on time.

He clarified that consumers would previously make their payments up to 20 days after the monthly bill was released.
