(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Dec 13 (KUNA) -- Under the auspices of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah patronized on Wednesday the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science's (KFAS) 2017 Awards.
His Highness the Deputy Amir arrived for the ceremony at 10:30 am local time and was received by KFAS Director General Dr. Adnan Shahab Al-Deen and board members.
National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim, senior sheikhs, His Highness Sheikh Nasser Mohammad Ahmad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Hamad Al-Sabah, ministers, and senior state police and military and national guard officials also attended the ceremony.
The ceremony began with the national anthem, recition of the Holy Quran, followed by a document on the main achievements made by KFAS.
Later, a film was shown highlighting the winners of KFAS Awards 2017, followed by a speech delivered by Maroun Awad on behalf of all the winners.
Afterwards, His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince handed over the awards to the winners and suvounir picture was taken with all the winners.
Later His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince was presented with a memorabilia marking the occasion and left the event. (end) mb
