Filipino Envoy praises Qatar's progress

Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to the State of Qatar Alan Timbayan, praised the progress made by the State in various developmental fields.
He also praised Qatar's excellent efforts in facing all the current challenges, noting the level of relations between the two countries and their keenness to develop them in the interest of the two peoples. w'As the National Day of the State of Qatar approaches, we should take stock of not only the rapid economic development of the country, but also the progress it has made on other fronts, such as the continued effort to comply with various international standards and obligations regarding migrant labor, the Ambassador said in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of the National Day, adding 'the Philippines, as a country with a significant expatriate population here, applauds this and congratulates the State of Qatar on its continued progress as a country and society.
Additionally, he noted that his country and Qatar continue to explore various ways to strengthen their cooperation and they are in the midst of forging a closer relationship.
The visit of President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte to Qatar in April of this year has in fact opened more doors for cooperation, he said, pointing out that this confirms the importance of his country's continued relationship with the State of Qatar. Regarding Qatar's handling of the siege, he said, 'Qatar has exerted excellent efforts in managing the current situation and continues to address the challenges it faces, such as the uninterrupted provision of the required necessities and services, thus ensuing a normal life for its citizens and residents alike.
