UAE- Central Bank Cash deposits surge to AED223.26 billion

ABU DHABI, 11th December, 2017 (WAM) -- The total cash deposits placed at the UAE Central Bank surged to AED223.26 billion in 11 months, a growth of 9 percent from AED204.8 billion by end of October.

In the meantime, withdrawals from the Central Bank amounted to AED222.969 billion in 11 months, an increase of 11.3 percent from AED206.6 billion during the period from January through the end of October.

In more detail, total banknote deposits at CB stood at AED223.168 billion, while coin deposits reached AED86.6 million, according to Central Bank Statistics released today.

Deposits during the month of November reached AED18.453 billion against AED19.8 billion in October.

July witnessed the highest level of deposits worth AED23.93 billion, followed by AED21.92 billion in May, then AED21.8 billion in April.

In November, a total of AED23.459 billion were withdrawn, AED23.448 of which in banknote and AED10.5 in coin. In May a total of AED25.56 billion was withdrawn, AED22.8 billion in August, AED22.74 billion in June and finally AED22 billion in March.
