(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BRUSSELS, Dec 11 (KUNA) -- The EU reaffirmed its position Monday that the only solution to the conflict between Israel and Palestine is based on two states with Jerusalem as capital of both.
"We believe that the only realistic solution to the conflict between Israel and Palestine is based on two states with Jerusalem as capital of both along the 67 line," said EU High Representative standing next to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu before a meeting with EU foreign ministers. "This is our consolidate position and we will continue to respect the international consensus on Jerusalem until the final status of the holy city is resolved," she said.
Mogherini stressed that the EU will increase its work together with "our international friends and partners but also with friends and partners in the region but also friends and partners in the region starting from Egypt and Jordan and obviously with the parties Israel and Palestine to start to re-launch the peace process even if it seems difficult times." She said they will discuss with Netanyahu the Middle East Peace Process, bilateral ties and the regional situation.
