Saudi Arabia to open cinemas in 2018

(MENAFN) The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has approved the opening of cinema theatres soon in 2018, for the first time since the 1970s when movie theatres were shut down in the first place.

The General Authority for Audio-Visual Media approved a plan to open cinematic theatres in Saudi Arabia after many requests of the citizens and visitors alike.

The regulatory authority chaired by Culture and Information Minister Dr. Awad Al-Awwad said that licenses would be issued to those willing to open cinemas in the country.
