24 Eurofighter Typhoon jets purchased by Qatar
(MENAFN) BAE Systems closed a GBP6 billion deal of selling 24 Eurofighter Typhoon jets to Qatar.
Qatar's purchase of the jets includes a support and training package from BAE, with deliveries due to start in 2022.
The deal will provide thousands of jobs in the UK as BAE Systems employs about 5,000 people in the country to build the fighter jets, mainly at Warton in Lancashire.
Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson announced the deal in Doha along with his Qatari counterpart, Khalid bin Mohammed al Attiyah.
