China accused of LinkedIn espionage by German intelligence agency
(MENAFN) The German intelligence agency (BfV) warned that for the purpose of collecting Intel on German officials and politicians, China is using fake LinkedIn profiles.
BfV claimed that Chinese intelligence employed the networking site in order to target more than 10,000 Germans probably so as to sign them up as moles.
The accounts, as claimed by head of the agency Hans-Georg Maassen, demonstrate attempts of China to challenge top-level German politics, he said "this is a broad-based attempt to infiltrate in particular parliaments, ministries and government agencies."
