Arabs have the right to defend the Palestinian issue: H E Alawi

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Cairo- H E Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs has said that Arabs have all the right to defend the Palestinian issue and the occupied Al Quds City.

H E Alawi was speaking at the extraordinary meeting of the Arab Foreign Ministers in Cairo to consider the developments resulting from US President Trump's recent decisions.

He added that the embassies of the countries accredited to the Palestinian State should be located in Eastern Al Quds.

H E Alawi said that whilehe appreciates enthusiastic speeches at the meeting, they were far below expectations from the strong Arab League. 'It is not good to just express our feelings, denounce other's acts and still do nothing. If we want to be obeyed, we should reconcile with the world.'

He said though the ad hoc committee held a three-hour meeting it did not have a clear vision to move forward. He noted that such issues may not be handled with ado but rather by moving ahead in this turbulent world.

H E Alawi said that the US vice president will visit the region soon and that Arabs and Palestinians can turn this situation into an opportunity. 'There are some proposals which may be positive including to develop, agree on and implement a roadmap in the coming year.'
