Convict Max Clifford pronounced dead at the age of 74


(MENAFN) After collapsing in jail, 74 year old former publicist Max Clifford was escorted to a hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Last week, Clifford was sent to a hospital after he suffered a heart attack in his jail cell at Littlehey Prison in Cambridgeshire.

The former publicist was convicted for past sex offences, he had been serving a sentence of eight years in prison before he collapsed.

The Ministry of Justice stated "as with all deaths in custody, there will be an investigation by the independent Prisons and Probation Ombudsman." A spokeswoman further added to the statement "our condolences are with Mr Clifford's family at this difficult time."
