Kuwaiti, Bahraini officials stress security ties


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MANAMA, Dec 9 (KUNA) -- Latest developments on the regional and international scenes featured high on the agenda of talks Kuwait's National Security Apparatus (NSA) Chief Sheikh Thamer Al-Ali Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah held in Manama Saturday with Bahrain's Deputy Interior Minister Sheikh Talal bin Mohammad.

Talking to KUNA, Sheikh Thamer Al-Ali reaffirmed the deep-rooted ties between Kuwait and Bahrain, mainly security and military, as he received Sheikh Talal bin Mohammad.

The meeting was attended by senior security and military commanders from both sides.

Sheikh Thamer Al-Ali led the Kuwaiti delegation to the 13th Manama Dialogue 2017, that concludes session on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti National Security Chief also discussed with US and British military officials bilateral cooperation and developments on the regional and the international arenas, as well as issues of mutual interest.

He also received US Assistant Secretary of State for International Security Affairs Robert S. Karem. Talks addressed issues of mutual interest.

Later in the day, Sheikh Thamer and the British Defense Secretary Gavin Williamson discussed means of boosting cooperation between Kuwait and the UK. They also reviewed a host of issues of common concern.

During the meeting, Sheikh Thamer stressed the importance of enhancing bilateral security and defense ties. Senior security and military commanders from both sides attended.

A multitude of political and security experts and academics are taking part in the three-day 13th Manama Dialogue to discuss several major issues and exchange of ideas and views. (end) hmd.mk.msa
