Kuwait- Iraqi PM announces full control of borders with Syria
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BAGHDAD, Dec 9 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar Al-Abadi said on Saturday the Iraqi-Syrian border was under the full control of the country's security forces.
Addressing an international media conference held here today, the prime minister said the Iraqi security forces had managed to liberate the areas of Al-Jazeera and Al-Badia in the governorates of Nineveh and Anbar.
The Iraqi security forces on Thursday launched the second stage of liberating Al-Jazeera, west of Iraq, targeting the retaking of western areas and controlling the border with Syria. (end) ahh.mt
