(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Washington, Dec. 9 (Petra) -- Deputy national security adviser Dina Powell, a key figure in the White House's Mideast policy, is planning to leave the administration early next year, the White House announced Friday, just two days after Trump's contentious decision to move the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
The Egyptian-born Powell,is a top advisor on Middle East policy and a fluent Arabic speaker, who has been part of Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner's efforts to revive the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
"Dina has done a great job for the administration and has been a valued member of the Israeli-Palestinian peace team," said Jared Kushner. "She will continue to play a key role in our peace efforts and we will share more details on that in the future," he said.
