Britain to reach historical deal with the EU
(MENAFN)Prime Minister Theresa May decision to rush to Brussels for early morning talks has led to a new deal between Britain and EU regarding the Brexit divorce.
It "recommends sufficient progress" had been made by Britain on separation issues including Britain's divorce bill, the Irish border, and citizens' rights, the European Commission said.
Through this agreement, EU leaders gathering at a summit on December 14-15 will open the second phase of Brexit negotiations, covering trade talks and a transition period.
After more than four decades of membership, Britain voted in June 2016 to leave the EU, however; the talks have been moving slowly and intensely.
