Aquabike World Cup: Qatar's Al Naimi captures third position in Pattaya

Promising rider Ali Al Naimi ensured at least one podium finish for Qatar at the Jet Ski Aquabike World Cup 2017 by claiming third position at the novice runabout stock category in Pattaya, Thailand yesterday.
According to details made available here, Al Naimi displayed a near flawless run at Jomtien Beach to earn third position in the final of novice runabout stock which saw 21 riders vying for the title. Two local riders captured the first two positions.

Al Naimi had a best run in moto 1 in which he secured 53 points followed by 39 and 48 points respectively in his next two attempts to accumulate a total of 140 points, which lent him third position. He was just three points behind Thailand's Thanutchai Pincharoen who finished on second position.

Another Thai rider Footrakul Suphathat won the race with a total of 140 points.

Top Qatari rider Waleed Mahmoud Al Sharshani will start his campaign today in heat of Pro Runabout Grand Prix. Al Sharshani is competing in the World Cup for fourth time. He won the event in the US in early 2016.
The two Qatari riders underwent strenuous training for weeks at Al Wakra beach to prepare for the competition.
