Qatar Foundation for Social Work forms team to manage crisis

Qatar Foundation for Social Work (QFSW) CEO, Amal Abdullatif Al Mannai, said that December 18 will be engraved in the hearts of Qataris for its great implications in consolidating national concepts, rejecting all temptations to change policies and constants and confronting the dangers at a difficult stage and a difficult historical era.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of Qatar's celebrations marking the National Day, which falls on December 18 each year, Al Mannai said that the theme ‘Promise of Prosperity and Glory' is significant in this year's celebration because it expresses pride and optimism about a future without limits for prosperity and glory.
Regarding the State of Qatar's celebration of the National Day this year amid the unjust siege, she said that QFSW has formed a team to manage the crisis by coordinating efforts and strengthening communication between the foundation and the rest of the official and concerned bodies in the country, pointing out that QFSW's centers provided family, social, counseling and rehabilitation services for members of families affected by the siege.
The total number of beneficiaries received by the centers working under QFSW's umbrella reached 855 beneficiaries, of whom 176 were Saudis, 59 were UAE nationals, 67 were Bahraini, and 553 were Egyptians, she indicated.
Al Mannai noted that the Foundation, as part of its future plans, intends to activate its international status as one of the Qatari civil society organisations registered at the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) to mobilise international support at the international level.
She also said that QFSW's international status gives it the opportunity to participate efficiently and effectively in the issues of economic, social and human development.
On the most important achievements in 2017, Al Mannai said that the Foundation seeks, within its terms of reference, to implement its various programmes in order to keep pace with the state's move towards a new stage of political, economic, educational, health, social, cultural, sports advancement without exception.
