European envoy to UN reject US Jerusalem decision
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) NEW YORK, Dec 8 (KUNA) -- European ambassador to the UN said Friday US President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as capital of Israel was contradicting with relevant UN resolution, nor reflected will of the international community.
Ambassadors of France, Sweden, Germany, Italy and Britain said the US decision does not serve peace.
They called on all regional parties to maintain peace and avoid escalation.
The status of Jerusalem, said the ambassadors, should be determined through negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis.
Jerusalem, they added, should be a capital of the Israelis and Palestinians.
East Jerusalem is part of the occupied Palestinian territories, they said.
Any agreement on borders should be based on the June 4, 1967 border lines. pickup previous) asf.bs
