Tillerson to participate in Lebanon ministerial

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON, Dec 8 (KUNA) -- US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson will participate in the International Support Group (ISG) for Lebanon ministerial Friday in Paris, the US State Department announced late Thursday.
"Tillerson will re-emphasize the United States' continued commitment to the Lebanese armed forces (LAF) and our partnership in the fight against terrorism," said a statement from Spokesperson Heather Nauert.
"The Secretary will also encourage the Lebanese government and other nations to move more aggressively in limiting Hizballah's destabilizing activity in the region." Tillerson is expected to meet with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hriri and other international leaders during the ministerial. (end) ak.mb
