Turkey arrests 58 migrants


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ANKARA, Dec 8 (KUNA) -- Fifty-eight migrants were detained in two separate operations in Turkey on Friday, as they tried to go to Greece, Turkish security forces said.

Twenty-six migrants were detained in western Edirne province, when security forces stopped a minibus in the Uzunkopru district, the security sources were quoted by Anadolu News Agency as saying.

The driver of the minibus was also arrested, the sources added.

In western Canakkale, the Coast Guard spotted a boat with 32 Iranian and Afghan nationals who were trying to go to Greeceآ's Lesbos island, they noted. (end) rs.mt
