FANA Rejects US Decision on Jerusalem

Kuwait, Rabi'I 19, 1439, Dec 7, 2017, SPA -- The Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) announced today its rejection of the US President Donald Trump's decision on Jerusalem, affirming that this step undermines all Arab and international efforts to find a just solution of the Palestinian Cause, based on the two-state solution.
In a statement issued today, Sheikh Mubarak Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah, FANA Chairman and Director General of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), stressed that this recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and moving the US embassy to Jerusalem abolishes the United States' commitment, since decades, not to recognize Israel's annexation of occupied Jerusalem and represents a surprised step over the US relations with the Arab and Muslim countries.
He called upon the United States to avoid taking any action changing the legal and political status of Jerusalem stemming from the relevant resolutions of the United Nations and the Security Council.
Sheikh Mubarak invited all media organizations and institutions in the world to reject the US decision.
