Baghdad, Rabi'I 19, 1439, Dec 7, 2017, SPA -- Iraq Thursday summoned US ambassador to Baghdad to protest US President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
In a statement issued by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, Iraq had summoned US ambassador Douglas Silliman and handed him a memo protesting Trump's decision.
'We caution against the dangerous repercussions of this decision on the stability of the region and the world,' an Iraqi government statement said.
'The US administration has to backtrack on this decision to stop any dangerous escalation,' it said.
