Erdogan: Armenia isolated itself from all energy, regional projects

By Rufiz Hafizoglu – Trend:

Armenia, which is a hostage of the Armenian diaspora, has isolated itself from all energy, transportation and other regional projects, the Turkish media quoted President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as saying Dec. 7.

Erdogan said Yerevan shut all channels of friendly relations with Turkey because of the Armenian diaspora's pressure.

"The countries that have friendly relations with Turkey are thriving, while those that have hostile relations do not have any future," Erdogan said.

The diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkey were severed in 1993. The break in relations as well as the closing of borders between Turkey and Armenia in 1993 were due to Yerevan's claims over recognition of the so-called Armenian genocide in the world and Armenia's occupation of Azerbaijani lands.
