Khaleeji 2017: Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain withdraw from the tournament
(MENAFN) The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bahrain have officially withdrawn from the Gulf Cup of Nations 'Khaleeji 2017', which will be held in Qatar.
The Oman Football Association (OFA) confirmed the decision of the three countries to boycott the 23rd edition of the biennial football tournament.
The championship will kick-off in Qatar as planned on December 22 and will end on 8 January 2018.
Five national football teams will be competing; host country Qatar, Oman, Yemen, Kuwait and Iraq.
The draw will be held on Monday, December 11.
