Royal Cavalry wins best breeder award for 2017 season in UK


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The Royal Cavalry has won the annual 51st award for the best Arabian breeder in UK for 2017 season.

The award was presented by the Horserace Writers' & Photographers' Association. It was awarded under the supervision of Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club by Gen Nasser Sherida al Kaabi to Capt Salim bin Humood al Hakmani, racing section officer in London at Lancaster Hotel, stated a press release.

The award is an appreciation for the Royal Cavalry's top positions in British horse racing courses. The event was attended by well-known horse breeders, trainers, jockeys and judges. The Royal Cavalry's horses won many races in 2017. Nafees, for example, won the British Derby Cup on Doncaster racecourse, Riyam came first in Newbury Racecourse, and Sylvine al Murry was first too, while Al Karamah came second in the International Dubai Raceday.

These top results were achieved under the supervision of Omani trainers including Said bin Bati al Badi who won the best trainer award in UK Arabian Horse Racing for 2017. Brig Gen Abdulrazak Abdulkader Alshahwarzi, commander of the Royal Cavalry said that the award is a result of the continuous achievements in various international competitions while making a mark in the international horse racing map.

He thanked the secretary general of the Royal Court Affairs for his support and added that the Royal Cavalry will try to keep ahead in future races too as planned.
