Honduras curfew suspended in eight departments

(MENAFN) After the presidential election clash which occurred a month ago, an overnight curfew in eight departments was lifted in Honduras once the areas were confirmed to be safe from security threats.

The Organization of American States has previously called for the suspension of the curfew as one of its demands. However, as the curfew had been lifted there are few areas where the curfew remains.

In case any "irregularities" appeared to damage the outcome's reliability, the OAS confirmed its determination to demand new elections.

The curfew in Honduras has been enforced last weekend following the 26 November poll when violence erupted.
